This is a subject that has been discussed several times over the course of the years so now is the time to air the views and see what people think.
The idea is to hold a gathering / conference / summit (call it what you will) sometime this year (in the Summer perhaps), where we can meet up, put faces to names, discuss issues both HR and non HR related, and generally have a good time of it.
Ideally it would be held on a weekend (Fri/Sat or Sat/Sun etc), near to, or in, a hotel in a city convenient to as many as possible.
So first off, i'd like to canvas opinions as to whether you think this is a good idea or not. If we get enough interest then we will take it forward to the next stage and try to identify dates and locations... As a follow-up to the initial poll, we have been contacted by a well known company offering use of their office facilities for the purposes of this gathering. These offices are located in Birmingham, UK and would be available at no-charge to all attendees, and may even come with Lunch and meeting room facilities too!
So should such an offer sway your thoughts in attending (and indeed in the location) do get in touch with us via the admin email address.
In the mean time the Poll remains open. I will be instigating a general group email to be sent out to frequent users to requst their input in this poll (in case you have not yet voted).
