We now have a new top-level category under the payroll forum titled "Legislation Issues".
Under this we now have 2 new sub-forums, 'UK' and 'Non-UK' to better direct legislation-specific questions.
Historic posts relating to these topics have been moved into these new forums.

Hi all
We will be planning an upgrade to HRMS Aces during the week commencing Monday 26th May 2008.
Not only do we have an upgrade to the server OS (postponed from earlier in the year) but we also have a major upgrade of the bulletin-board software to implement.
This upgrade will introduce various security patches and fixes, and will also introduce more functionality to the end-user.
We had hoped to implement a blogging facility during this upgrade, however this has been delayed pending further tests.
All of this activity may mean that there is some disruption to the site, but we hope to keep this to a minimum.

Hi Barry
Is it possible to get your website to email the person when a question or forum addition is updated.
That way we will know we can either log onto your website and check it for the answer, or view the answer in the email.

- Do you know anyone who used to use hrmsaces and now no-longer bothers?
- Have you had to create more than one user account because you forgot an earlier account?
- Do you visit this site but do not bother to login in using your user account?
We have an impending software upgrade due around Easter time, and it has been proposed that as part of this upgrade all dormant user accounts are purged from the database.
Prior to this action taking place we will send out a 'last chance' email to all accounts regarded as being "dormant".
So what is a dormant account (i hear you cry)?
An account will be classed as dormant if it satisfies any of the following criteria...
- User has never logged-on since account was created
- User has a last recorded logged-on date over 12 months ago
- User name or email details match more than one account - in this case the least active account will be removed.

For the early birds amongst you, some of you would have encountered a classic '404' error this morning when trying to access this site (via any of the re-directs).
A slight 'disagreement' with the ISP over payment of fees suddenly escalated into full-scale service withdrawal overnight!
A couple of quick phone calls and some 'discussions' with various representatives and normal service has been restored.
